Salon Series VI: Theme “Water”

“A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation.”

Pools.pngSALON VI with the theme of “Water” will be Friday, August 14th, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ojai Valley Green Coalition Resource Center – 206 N. Signal St., Suite S, in downtown Ojai.

What is this amazing substance we call water, and which we take for granted every day?
It makes up 65% of our body. It constitutes 71% of our planet. Without it, life on Earth would not exist.
The amount of moisture on Earth has not changed. The water the dinosaurs drank millions of years ago is the same water that falls as rain today. It is the gold standard of biological currency, and unlike petroleum, water will always be with us. Taking a wide-eyed look at a watery planet is our way of knowing the stakes, the better to know our place.Excerpted from National Geographic April 2010
What is your relationship with water? Do you have a special lake or river, or perhaps the ocean holds a place in your heart? Come share in the medium that speaks to you, or just come to listen.

The evening will be a casually structured conversation. Please note and honor that it is our intention for this Salon Series to be a place to get ‘heart & soul’ nourishment for the many challenges we face, NOT cite problems and resolve issues.
A donation and beverage to share is appreciated, though not required. The Salon will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and seating is limited. We encourage early arrival with doors opening at 6:45.
