The Coalition will once again hold an e-waste recycling event on Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the Ojai Community Bank’s parking lot, located at 402 W. Ojai Ave. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
The event is open to all Ojai Valley residents and businesses.

The Coalition will hold several workshops at the home of Dulanie and Douglas La Barre in the principles and practices of creating a “food forest”.
The workshops are open to the public and will cover:
#1 site assessment, garden design intro, and intensive fruit tree orchards
#2 garden design and high-yield vegetable gardening
#3 chickens and coop building
#4 pond construction and aquaculture
#5 fire pit Kiva and bamboo pavilion construction
Workshops are by reservation only:
-- $30 OVGC supporting members
-- $35 non-members.
Workshops include vegetarian lunch, handouts and seeds.
You will receive a confirmation email with complete details and logistics upon receipt of payment.

Save the Date: Saturday, March 2 (February 16 Work Day Canceled)

The Ojai Valley Green Coalition is spearheading volunteer recruitment for current creek restoration work in Libbey Park, Ojai being led by the C.R.E.W. Please join us rain or shine for our next work day for the winter season: Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will be planting to reestablish native habitat with possibly some invasive non-native plants removal.

The Coalition sadly had to say good bye to its president and director, Kathy Nolan in September. Kathy will stay connected as an Advisory Board member. Her work as an Ojai city planning commissioner, running her own business, and president of the Coalition was proving too much. Thank you for your past and continued service to our community, Kathy.
